FEED_MAGAZINE_SPREADS

My two final outcomes are intended for the FEED magazine. Based on a personal project from myself, looking at the contents and surroundings of old council house/buildings due for demolition. Moreover, it's a homage to the pre-owners of the dwellings, and how they left there own mark. The colours and objects within some shots, show a juxtaposition in a ugly/beauty sense. I wanted the spreads to be a display of narrative, without reading the copy, but by simply using feelings of colour and shapes to describe the story behind these spreads. The simplicity of type is complimentary to the imagery, the element of negative space is to accentuate the reading of the copy in contour to the photographs.

These two spread designs were my response to, 'Dream Magazine' brief. The name explains exactly what the outcome was. I decided to go with my own grid, breaking traditional grids, placing type in bizarre ways. It's all about the imagery interlinking with the typography.
